Anthropic has unveiled a new Personal Finance feature for Claude, enabling users to link their bank and card accounts for enhanced financial analysis. This feature provides users with read-only access to their accounts, ensuring that Claude cannot transfer, manage, or invest funds. The AI offers responses in everyday language, simplifying complex financial terminology.
Feature Highlights
The Personal Finance tool can monitor spending habits across various categories, track upcoming bills, and identify unusual purchases. It also helps users detect unexpected fees, increasing bills, and ongoing subscriptions, while generating visual aids like charts and dashboards.
Users connect their financial accounts via the Plaid service, which safeguards sensitive information by not exposing bank passwords. Claude can access details such as bank and account names, balances, credit limits, and transaction history for up to two years. It’s important to note that conversations regarding Personal Finance are not utilized for model training nor stored in Claude’s memory.
Beta Rollout
The Personal Finance feature is currently being rolled out in beta for Pro, Max, and Ultra subscription plans in the United States. This follows OpenAI’s introduction of a similar financial feature for ChatGPT back in May.
