Rwanda Tech News App Now Live on Android and iOS

Date:

Rwanda Tech News has launched its newly updated mobile applications on Android and iOS, giving readers a new way to follow technology, startups and innovation in Rwanda while also discovering companies, jobs and events across the country’s growing technology ecosystem.

The Rwanda Tech News app is now available through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, extending the publication beyond its website and creating a dedicated mobile platform for readers who want to keep up with Rwanda’s technology sector wherever they are.

The launch represents an important step in the development of Rwanda Tech News. While news remains at the centre of the platform, the ambition behind the app is broader: to create a useful digital hub for the people, companies and organisations participating in Rwanda’s technology industry.

Readers can follow daily coverage of artificial intelligence, fintech, cybersecurity, startups, digital transformation and other developments shaping Rwanda and the wider technology industry. Articles are organised across categories including top stories, features, startups and tech deals, Women in Tech, Youth & Tech, AI and innovation, and Comment & Analysis.

However, the app has been designed to offer more than a traditional mobile news feed.

One of its main features is an interactive technology map bringing together startups, investors, IT companies and innovation hubs operating across Rwanda. Users can search the map, filter organisations by type, view profiles and access contact information, creating another way to explore the businesses and institutions contributing to the country’s digital economy.

The platform also includes a dedicated jobs section, where users can discover opportunities across Rwanda’s technology sector, alongside an events section covering technology events, meetups and community gatherings. These features are intended to make the app useful not only to people reading about the industry, but also to those looking to participate in it.

For students and young professionals considering careers in technology, the app provides a single place to follow companies, understand emerging sectors and discover employment opportunities. Entrepreneurs can follow developments affecting the startup ecosystem, while investors and other organisations can use the technology map to explore companies operating in the market.

Readers can also search for stories, bookmark articles for later and share content directly with friends, colleagues and social networks. Push notifications provide alerts for important stories and updates, while the latest version introduces support for following content in English and French.

The iOS release supports both iPhone and iPad, while the Android version is available through Google Play. Both applications are published by Fieldhouse Studio Ltd.

Building More Than a News Platform

The launch comes as Rwanda’s technology ecosystem continues to expand into areas including artificial intelligence, financial technology, digital public services, cybersecurity and entrepreneurship.

As that ecosystem grows, finding information about what is happening across the industry can still require visiting multiple websites, company pages and social media accounts.

Rwanda Tech News wants the mobile platform to help bring more of that information together.

The long-term aim is for someone interested in Rwanda’s technology industry to be able to open the app not only to understand what happened that day, but also to discover a startup, find an upcoming event, explore an employment opportunity or learn more about the organisations shaping the sector.

That approach reflects the wider mission of Rwanda Tech News: to report on Rwanda’s digital transformation while giving greater visibility to the entrepreneurs, developers, investors, students, companies and institutions helping to build it.

The app will continue to develop alongside the publication, with feedback from readers and Rwanda’s technology community helping to shape future improvements.

For Rwanda Tech News, launching across both major mobile platforms is therefore not simply about having an app. It is another step towards building a dedicated platform for Rwanda’s technology ecosystem and making information about the industry easier to discover locally and internationally.
