KIGALI, Rwanda, 27 October 2026 – In a significant move to enhance national development, Rwanda has launched InteGo!, its national lottery, aimed at mobilizing local resources for key national priorities while fostering digital service delivery and promoting responsible gambling.

The launch event took place at the Mövenpick Hotel in Kigali, attended by representatives from the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the National Lottery and Gambling Commission (NLGC), and partners from various sectors including finance, telecommunications, and technology.

InteGo! is a government-owned initiative, regulated by the NLGC and operated by Moja Rwanda Ltd, which was chosen through a competitive selection process. The lottery is anticipated to yield around USD 37.6 million (approximately RWF 55 billion) to support public-benefit initiatives focused on sports, health, and culture, thereby contributing to social development and economic opportunities.

Statements from Officials

Serge Nyombayire, the Head of Gambling Licensing and Regulations at the NLGC, stated, “The launch of InteGo! marks a pivotal moment in establishing a modern and well-regulated national lottery. This initiative not only offers entertainment but also generates resources for investments in sports, health, and culture, which are vital for community well-being and national development.”

He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of integrity, transparency, and responsible participation in the lottery’s operations. “Our commitment to regulatory oversight, public welfare, and responsible gambling is essential for building trust and ensuring the sustainable realization of benefits from this initiative,” he added.

Digital Participation and Accessibility

InteGo! is designed as a fully digital national lottery, enabling eligible participants to engage through USSD, mobile money, its website, and mobile application. Authorized agents will be available to assist customers who prefer in-person support, with all transactions handled digitally.

To facilitate participation across Rwanda, the lottery allows access via mobile phones, ensuring secure and traceable transactions. The inaugural draw took place during the launch, with daily Lotto 5/90 draws set to be broadcast live on Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) starting Wednesday, 28 October 2026.

Community Engagement and Responsible Gambling

InteGo! derives its name from the Kinyarwanda word for ‘goal’ and operates under the motto “Every Play Makes a Difference,” highlighting its dedication to channeling funds towards public priorities.

Daniel Mihizi, General Manager at Moja Rwanda Ltd, remarked, “As the technical operator, our goal is to provide a trustworthy, transparent, and reliable national lottery that meets international standards. We are dedicated to ensuring accountability and a seamless experience for players across the nation.”

Participation starts at RWF 100, accessible through USSD by dialing *759# or online at www.intego.rw. Live draws will occur on RBA at 7:40 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and at 7:15 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Player protection is a priority, with participation restricted to individuals aged 18 and older. The platform includes spending limits, cooling-off options, and responsible gambling messages in its communications. Players needing assistance can reach out to a free helpline or request account closure if they wish to stop gambling.

InteGo! is viewed as a form of entertainment rather than a financial solution, with the NLGC ensuring compliance with regulatory measures to protect minors and vulnerable individuals while maintaining the integrity of lottery operations.

In the coming weeks, InteGo! teams will engage the public across Rwanda to explain the lottery’s operations, address inquiries, and promote responsible gambling practices.
