This shift highlights a significant move towards acknowledging and celebrating women’s contributions in the tech industry. Notably, 89% of women report enjoying their leadership roles and feeling empowered by an industry that recognises and financially rewards their achievements.

The tech industry has transformed, fostering a culture that champions diversity, nurtures talent, and propels women towards fulfilling and exciting careers. Women thrive, with 89% expressing satisfaction in leadership roles across all age groups and sectors. Financial rewards, personal and professional development opportunities, and a supportive community of mentors and allies make tech leadership roles highly satisfying for women.

A passion for technology drives this satisfaction. The tech field is creative, exciting, and forward-thinking, filled with challenges and opportunities that fuel women’s enthusiasm and commitment. The industry offers significant financial rewards, opportunities for continuous improvement, and the freedom of being one’s own boss.

A supportive culture within the tech community is crucial in retaining talent. Seven in ten women stated their organisation promotes a culture supporting work/life balance for both genders. Additionally, two in three women feel there are sufficient mentorship and networking opportunities.

Many women find immense satisfaction in mentoring and inspiring others. Sixty per cent of women identified an individual as influencing their pursuit of a tech career, creating a supportive environment where women can thrive and advance. This underscores the crucial role of mentorship in women’s success and the importance of your support in this journey.

Women are increasingly breaking barriers in tech, challenging stereotypes, and paving the way for future generations. An impressive 77% of women in non-tech organisations feel they excel in their roles, with even higher figures in tech companies at 81%.

For some, breaking the glass ceiling, winning awards, and tackling complex work are achievement measures. For others, the satisfaction stems from the ability to innovate and contribute to cutting-edge projects.

Organisations have made significant strides in treating women, especially women leaders. However, progress still hinges on recognising their value beyond client requirements and expectations. Women leaders have fought through bias and discrimination yet continue to demonstrate resilience in overcoming these challenges.

To ensure true inclusivity, organisations must set additional goals and measure the impact of their actions. Promoting more women internally, offering incentives to encourage applications, and providing extensive training and development opportunities for women are essential strategies.

Despite positive views on mentorship programs, a recurring theme in the ‘Rewards & Resilience’ report is the need for more women senior leaders available for mentoring. Increasing the availability of mentorship and development programs for women should be prioritised, and your involvement as a mentor is crucial in this effort.

While there may be a shortage of women mentors in tech currently, there is little interest among women to fill this gap, with 40% of respondents wanting to become mentors to support and inspire others.

The tech sector demonstrates that when businesses commit to inclusivity and actively support their female workforce, they retain top talent and drive innovation. Only 2.8% of women in tech leadership plan to leave the sector, while 97.2% are inspired to stay. By fostering an environment that supports and advances female talent, women are empowered to reach their full potential.
