Exciting New Features for Free ChatGPT Users: Custom GPTs, Data Analytics, and More

Free ChatGPT Features

We’re excited to share that several advanced features, once exclusive to paid ChatGPT users, are now at the fingertips of every ChatGPT user. This update empowers our free users, enriching their experience and capabilities with AI. Here’s a glimpse of what’s now within your reach:

New Features for Free Users

Custom GPTs: Free users can now explore and use custom GPTs tailored for specific tasks. While creating custom GPTs remains exclusive to paid users, free users can still benefit from those already made, ranging from an on-demand thesaurus to an Ikea shopping guide. Additionally, custom GPT creators can participate in a revenue-sharing program. This program, which OpenAI began testing in March, allows creators to earn a portion of the revenue generated by their custom GPTs, further incentivising their creation and use.

Data Analytics and Chart Creation: This feature allows users to connect their OneDrive and Google Drive data to ChatGPT, enabling faster data analysis and the creation of customisable charts. This capability significantly enhances productivity and data management, making visualising and interpreting data easier.

Image and File Analysis: Free users can now upload files, analyse charts, and ask questions about photos directly within ChatGPT. This opens up new possibilities for interacting with visual and data-driven content.

Continued Benefits for Paid Users

While these features are a fantastic addition for all users, our paid subscribers—ChatGPT Plus, Teams, and Enterprise—continue to enjoy some exclusive perks:

Fewer Message Limits: Paid users have fewer restrictions on the number of messages or conversations they can have using GPT-4, our most advanced model. When free users hit their message limit, they will revert to GPT-3.5, a powerful model but with some limitations compared to GPT -4.

Advanced Model Responses: Paid users can access more sophisticated model responses and web-based features, which gives them an edge in detailed and nuanced interactions.

Voice Features Update

OpenAI has made changes to its voice features. The controversial Sky voice, noted for its resemblance to Scarlett Johansson’s performance in Her, has been removed due to copyright concerns. However, other voice options remain available for ChatGPT users, ensuring a diverse and engaging user experience.

Conclusion

This update marks a significant step in democratising access to advanced AI tools, making powerful features available to a broader audience. Whether you are a student, professional, or hobbyist, these tools can help you get more out of your ChatGPT experience.

Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements as we continue to improve and expand ChatGPT’s capabilities. These updates will include new features, improved performance, and enhanced user experience, all aimed at providing you with the best AI-powered communication tool.
